David Perlmutter, MD, is a leader among the vanguard of neurologists and cognitive health professionals who are completely rethinking everything about the etiology and the management of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of cognitive impairment. In his view, dementia is not the inevitable result of bad genes, but a predictable–and controllable–outcome of diet and lifestyle factors. He believes that in many cases Alzheimer’s is reversible, and certainly preventable.

Dr. Perlmutter is about to release a new and updated 5th Anniversary edition of his smash-hit book, Grain Brain, which details the negative impact that grain-heavy diets have on cognitive function.

HPC’s editor, Erik Goldman, caught up with Dr. Perlmutter at the 2018 Integrative Healthcare Symposium.
